Roque at Cayetano, Iresponsableng Pahayag tungkol sa Human Rights Group

Boom. Soplak!

Ayon kay Cayetano, “What we’re pointing out is it’s not just the ICC.”

Dagdag pa nya,

“We’re looking at the whole human rights mechanism that’s supposed to be there to assist the government in fulfilling its human rights obligation.”

Sa isang pahayag ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, “We therefore do not discount the possibility that some human rights groups have become unwitting tools of drug lords to hinder the strides made by the administration.”

Dagdag pa nya, “To continue to do and thrive in the drug business, these drug lords can easily use their drug money to fund destabilization efforts against the government.”

Erin Tañada: Absurd and Baseless ang mga Tinuran nina Harry Roque at Allan Cayetano

Ayon kay LP Vice President on External Affairs Erin Tañada, “The statement of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano and Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque that drug lords are using human rights group to criticize and undermine the government is absurd and baseless.”

Dagdag pa ni Tañada, “At the same time, it is patently dangerous because it makes human rights groups possible targets of the anti-drug operations of law enforcers.”

Diin pa ni Tañada, ang mga human rights group ay “courageous and untiring in monitoring the implementation of the government’s anti-drug efforts and the abuses that go with them.”

Ganun din, “They help provide sanctuary and voice to the voiceless victims of this invented war.”

Hamon ni Tañada, “We call on the administration to retract its statement if it can’t provide evidence to back up its claims.”

Human Rights Watch: Kinondena rin sina Cayetano at Roque

Ayon kay HRW Asia Director Brad Adams, “The statements by Philippines Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano and President Duterte’s spokesman Harry Roque that drug lords may be using human rights groups to criticize and undermine the government are shockingly dangerous and shameful. Are they trying to have death squads target human rights activists?

Ganun din, sabi ni Adams, “Cayetano and Roque provide no evidence. They should withdraw their comments immediately.”

Sabi ni Panelo, “I think the comments are misplaced. I read the comments of both Secretary Alan and Secretary Harry and they said they may be unwilling or rather unwitting victims of drug lords using them.”

Ayon kay PDEA Spokesperson Director Derrick Carreon, “That is still subject of further investigation by all law enforcement agencies.”

Ngunit, ayon kay Carreon, posibleng totoo ang mga tinuran nina Roque at Cayetano dahil “seeing the trend of how they (human rights groups) attack the anti-drug campaign.”
